If we want to prevent uninvited guests from visiting us, we have no choice but to make our home impenetrable to them. In the case of visitors who are merely annoying, intrusive, or bothersome for some other reason, any door equipped with a handle and anything that can be locked is usually sufficient, but in the case of all kinds of thieves, such doors are by no means sufficient.
Thieves keep up with the times, hone their skills, and are often so skilled that they could easily make a living as locksmiths. That is, of course, if it paid as well as their thieving craft.
Gone are the days when a simple latch and padlock were enough. Even the locks that were the ideal solution not so many years ago are now a thing of the past, as even a skilled burglar can pick or break them. And even so-called security locks are no longer very safe from people in the trade. This is especially true given the sad reality that brazen thieves often do not even shy away from kicking down doors.
So, the only way to protect what we have at home and prevent burglary and theft of our property is to install security doors. There are several
types of such doors available on the market today. And if they are to serve their purpose, it is desirable that we choose the right ones.
When choosing those that are supposed to protect us from uninvited guests, there are quite a few things to consider. First and foremost, we need to choose the right security class, i.e., a rating of how well the product will resist thieves. For apartments, the most desirable security classes are two to four, but if we own something truly valuable, it is better to choose something from class five upwards.
In terms of materials, we should prefer galvanized sheet metal with a steel core to wood for such doors, as this material deters thieves at first glance. We should not settle for one lock, but request two to three security locks, and a security peephole should not be missing.
And we should also choose the right supplier, preferably one recommended by someone trustworthy who will also provide warranty and post-warranty service. Because you know who pretends to be an entrepreneur and what they offer. You should
simply have a proper door. They are more expensive, but they are definitely worth it for what they help protect in our homes.
